AP: "An intact Air France Flight 447 slammed belly first into the Atlantic Ocean at a very high speed, a top French investigator said Thursday, adding that problems with the plane's speed sensors were not the direct cause of the crash."
Air France Flight 447 slammed into the Atlantic Ocean, intact and belly first, at such a high speed that the 228 people aboard probably had no time to even inflate their life jackets…
Can I just take this moment to tell people—a little public service announcement, if you will—if you ever crash into a large body of water on a plane and survive impact, PLEASE don’t be the idiot who inflates their vest before they get out of the plane. Inflating your vest before exiting increases your likelihood of getting trapped in the plane. Inflate it once you’re safely out of the plane.
Kind regards,
Your friendly former flight attendant
